Deep Listening
The greatest of all gifts that we can offer each other is our true presence. To really listen to someone when they’re sharing something joyful, or emotional, or difficult, is to honor who they are and bear witness to all they have been through.

When we listen in this way, we’re not trying to offer advice, or fix anything, or judge it against our own experiences and beliefs, or think about how we “should” respond, or what we’re going to say next. We are simply just being there for our loved one and holding them in our awareness and true presence.
This kind of listening is something we can all do for each other and I am happy to offer it during my client sessions whenever it would be helpful.
Because to be present is to listen, to listen is to understand, and to understand is to love.
